Baghdad, The Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received in his office today the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen. A statement from Al-Maliki's office stated: "During the meeting, developments in the political and security situation taking place in the regional and international arenas were discussed, as well as a number of issues and files of common interest." The Head of the State of Law Coalition stressed: 'The region is witnessing great tensions that require everyone's cooperation to overcome them,' noting: 'Iraq's vision is moving towards building strong relations with all brotherly and friendly countries, including Britain, and working to establish security in the region and finding solutions to the outstanding problems through "Dialogue." Al-Maliki expressed his hope that Iraq and the international coalition countries will soon reach deadlines to schedule the exit of its forces from the country and move to relations of cooperation and partnership in various fields. For his part, Ambassador Hitchen affirmed the British government's support for Iraq's efforts to establish regional security, praising its pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of peace in the region.
