Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani discussed, today, Monday, with the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi, security cooperation between the two countries. Al-Sudani's media office stated in a statement that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received today the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi, and during the meeting, security cooperation between Iraq and Lebanon was discussed in all files, especially those related to cross-border crime, and the emphasis was on the need for intelligence coordination in order to confront security challenges, in addition to cooperation in recovering funds and those wanted by the Iraqi judiciary in security cases or in corruption files." He explained that during the meeting, Lebanon's participation in the second Baghdad International Conference on Combating Drugs was also reviewed, and the importance of developing joint efforts to confront this scourge, which threatens the security of all countries in the regio n and their societies.
