Doha: Al Wakrah have officially announced the signing of defender Tamim Al Muhaiza from Al Markhiya on a one-season contract. In a statement on Saturday, the club stated that Al Muhaiza has signed his contract to join the first football team, starting from the 2024-2025 season. Al Muhaiza has had several experiences in the past years with clubs such as Al Gharafa, Al Khor, and Al Markhiya. He was also part of the Qatari national team that won the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. During the current summer transfer window, Al Wakrah has appointed Spanish coach Angel Miguel and signed Cape Verde striker Ricardo Gomes from Al Shamal, Danish defender Alexander Scholz from Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan, and Tunisian Aissa Laidouni from Union Berlin in Germany. Al Wakrah is currently holding its pre-season training camp in Spain, which will continue until August 1. The team played one match during the camp, drawing 2-2 against Al Jazira from the UAE. They are scheduled to play two more matches against Spanish teams Castellon a nd Antequera on July 26 and 30. Source: Qatar News Agency
