An MP Sets A Date For Presenting The General Amnesty Law In Parliament, Stressing It Will Not Be Passed Easily

The MP of the State of Law Coalition, Thaer Makhaif, set the date for presenting the draft general amnesty law in Parliament, stressing that it will not pass easily in Parliament.

Makhaif said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): "The draft general amnesty law, which reached parliament from the government, will not be passed easily and in a smooth manner in the House of Representatives, and will witness widespread controversy by some Shiite and Sunni extremist parties, as well as heated discussions about those included in the law ".

He added: "In the event that the speech of all political blocs, national and purely Iraqi, is to build a true Iraq, this draft law will pass in Parliament positively."

He explained: "Parliament is currently going through a recess due to the Arbaeen visit, and it is possible to put it up for discussion and the first and second reading after the end of the recess, and perhaps in the middle of next September."/ End
