Cairo: Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Fahmy discussed during a phone call with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein the tense regional situation and ways to achieve security and stability in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement issued by the Arab League on Monday indicated that, during the call, both sides emphasized the importance of addressing current developments through diplomatic means. They highlighted the necessity of strengthening inter-Arab relations to protect the region and preserve the nation-state as a cornerstone of stability and security.

The conversation between Fahmy and Hussein also led to an agreement to continue their cooperation and consultations. They committed to using all available channels to safeguard Arab rights while revitalizing and developing the mechanisms of the Arab League in the interest of the Arab world. This commitment comes in response to systematic attempts at domination and subjugation faced by the region.
