Manama: The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned in the strongest possible terms the Iranian attack with a projectile on an Emirati ADNOC oil tanker while traversing the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry considered this assault a flagrant breach of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, constituting a dangerous threat to maritime navigation and energy supplies.
The statement emphasized that Bahrain stands in full solidarity with the UAE and supports it in all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security, stability, and critical interests.
It also highlighted the importance of the UN Security Council upholding its responsibilities and taking measures to safeguard the security and safety of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and vital waterways, in addition to compelling Iran to reopen the Strait and refrain from attacking commercial vessels.
