Baladna Completes Capital Increase, New Shares Begin Trading on QSE

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and Baladna Q.P.S.C., the nation's leading dairy and beverage producer, have announced the successful completion of Baladna's capital increase through a rights issue. The newly issued shares are now officially listed and trading on QSE.

According to Qatar News Agency, a "Ring the Bell" ceremony was held at QSE to celebrate the completion of the transaction, attended by senior officials and representatives from the executive management teams of both organizations. This event highlighted the significance of this milestone for the company and its stakeholders.

QSE Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Mohammed Al Ansari stated that the listing of Baladna's capital increase shares represents a crucial milestone and underscores QSE's role in enabling listed companies to access capital markets. He emphasized QSE's commitment to providing a diverse range of financing solutions to support the growth and expansion of these companies.

Al Ansari further explained that the successful execution of the transaction demonstrated effective coordination among regulatory authorities, market infrastructure institutions, and market participants involved in the process. He reiterated QSE's dedication to developing an integrated and efficient market ecosystem that fosters private-sector growth and aligns with Qatar's economic development objectives.

Baladna Chairman Moutaz Al Khayyat remarked that the successful completion of the capital increase is a testament to the company's growth and strong shareholder confidence in its strategy and future plans. He highlighted that the additional capital would accelerate Baladna's expansion plans, enhance production capacity, and broaden its regional and international presence, contributing to sustainable food security.

Al Khayyat also noted the robust investor demand for Baladna shares, as evidenced by the full sale of the remaining shares. The company's share price closed Tuesday's trading session 1.51% higher at QR 1.28, marking the completion of the issuance process.

The issuance involved 535,996,240 new shares offered to existing shareholders on a one-for-four basis at a subscription price of QR 1.01 per share. The subscription period concluded on August 17, 2026, with the full sale of 120,507,405 unsubscribed shares at the start of the trading session, resulting in 100% coverage of the new shares offered.

Following the completion of the process, Baladna's issued and paid-up share capital increased from QR 2,143,984,962 to QR 2,679,981,202, distributed across 2,679,981,202 shares, marking a 25% increase.

The company stated that this capital increase is one of the largest completed under the Offering, Listing, and Mergers and Acquisitions Rules issued by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority in December 2025. The transaction is part of Baladna's strategy to strengthen its capital base and diversify its financing sources, further consolidating its position in the dairy and beverage sector. It also reflects QSE's ongoing efforts to develop the market and expand the range of financing and investment solutions available to companies seeking to raise capital.
