Department of Meteorology Warns of Poor Horizontal Visibility Inshore

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the weather conditions expected inshore tonight until 6:00 pm on Friday. The weather is anticipated to be misty to foggy in certain areas initially, transitioning to hot to very hot during the daytime with occasional cloud cover. The department has cautioned about poor horizontal visibility in some locations during the early hours.

According to Qatar News Agency, the weather offshore is predicted to be hazy at times. Inshore winds will be variable, predominantly southeasterly to northeasterly, at speeds ranging from 05 to 15 knots. Offshore, winds will vary mainly from southwesterly to southeasterly, with speeds between 02 and 12 knots.

The sea state inshore is expected to be calm, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 2 feet, while offshore conditions will see waves between 1 to 3 feet. Visibility inshore is projected to be between 04 to 09 kilometers, potentially dropping to 02 kilometers or less in some areas initially. Offshore visibility is expected to remain between 04 to 09 kilometers.
