Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Wind and High Sea Tonight

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the weather conditions expected until 6:00 am on Friday. The weather forecast indicates blowing dust in some areas, which will transition into slightly dusty conditions with scattered clouds. The department has cautioned about strong winds and high sea conditions in certain areas at the outset.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will also see slightly dusty weather accompanied by scattered clouds. The warning extends to strong winds and high sea conditions in specific locations. Inshore winds are expected to be northwesterly, ranging from 18 to 24 knots, gusting up to 30 knots in some places initially, but will later decrease to 5 to 15 knots. Offshore winds will vary from northwesterly to northerly, with speeds between 8 to 18 knots, occasionally gusting to 25 knots.

The sea state inshore will range from 1 to 3 feet, potentially surging to 5 feet in certain areas at times. Offshore, sea conditions are anticipated to be between 3 to 5 feet, rising to 8 feet in some areas. Visibility inshore is expected to be between 4 to 8 kilometers, reducing to 3 kilometers or less in some places initially, while offshore visibility will remain between 4 to 8 kilometers.
