San francisco: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov, who is visiting Egypt, discussed Saturday a number of regional and international developments of mutual interest, foremost among them the Palestinian cause as well as the latest developments in the US-Iranian negotiations and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Minister also discussed, in a phone call with US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, the latest regional developments, the progress of the US-Iranian negotiations, and the recent contacts aimed at reaching the desired agreement between the two sides, which would contribute to de-escalation, ending the war, and ushering in a new era of security and stability in the region.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's welcome of this agreement and its commitment to exerting all efforts, in cooperation with regional partners, to reach a final agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties. He stressed the need to seize this opportunity to end the war and support regional stability.
For his part, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East praised the intensive efforts made by regional parties, including Egypt, to reach the agreement, expressing his hope that the agreement would contribute to supporting security and stability in the region.
