European Stocks Slide to Three-Month Lows

Doha: European shares dropped to a three-month low today as investors continued to shy away from risk amid rising oil prices and surging bond yields. The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.3 percent to 634.18 points, marking its lowest closing level since June 12. Most major European stock exchanges also saw slight declines. According to Qatar News Agency, banking and financial services stocks were among the primary drags on the index, dropping 0.9 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively. UBS shares slid 3.4 percent, LVMH fell 2.6 percent, and the broader European index retreated 1.5 percent.
