Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein announced that Iraq will reach certain understandings with the Turkish side regarding the Bashiqa camp. Hussein said in a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Ankara, today, Thursday: "We will reach certain understandings with the Turkish side regarding the Bashiqa camp," noting that "Iraq has decided to put the Kurdistan Workers' Party on the list of banned parties." Fouad Hussein expressed concern about "the intensity of tensions in the region and what is happening in Gaza, and we seek to cease fire in Gaza," stressing that "Iraq stands against any wars in the region." Regarding the memorandum of understanding with Turkey, Fouad Hussein indicated that it is "the first of its kind in the history of the two countries." For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Turkey and Iraq on military and security cooperation and combating terrorism.
