New York:Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with European Union Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio to discuss GCC-European relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The discussions included several issues of mutual interest, such as preparations for the upcoming second summit between GCC and EU leaders, which is scheduled for next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, they reviewed the progress in implementing the outcomes of the first GCC-EU summit and explored mechanisms to enhance the strategic relationship between the two regions. The discussions also covered the latest regional and international developments, with both sides exchanging views.
