GCC Secretary-General Meets Peruvian Foreign Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi met Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru Elmer Schialer Salcedo. The two officials discussed several topics aimed at enhancing and developing relations in ways that serve mutual interests, alongside signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish consultations on shared matters between the GCC Secretariat and the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, further strengthening ties between both parties.

According to Qatar News Agency, on the sidelines of the signing, Al Budaiwi stated that the MoU represents a significant step toward solidifying political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the GCC and Peru. He emphasized that it reflects shared values and closely aligned aspirations for building a more prosperous and peaceful future for their peoples.

He also expressed hope that the MoU would pave the way for broader dialogue and coordination, reinforcing partnerships on key issues that serve both sides’ interests while contributing to international stability.

Additionally, he stressed the MoU’s role in laying the groundwork for a joint action plan, strengthening collaboration across various sectors, particularly politics, economy, food security, culture, education, and people-to-people engagement.
