Gold Prices Rise to USD 4,376.02 per Ounce

Doha: Gold prices rose in trading today, supported by a weaker US dollar after US inflation data released this week increased expectations that the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) will leave interest rates unchanged next month.

According to Qatar News Agency, spot gold rose 0.6 percent to USD 4,376.02 per ounce, after falling around 1.3 percent in the previous session as investors took profits following prices reaching their highest level since June 5.

US gold futures also rose 0.3 percent to USD 4,433.90 per ounce, while silver gained 1 percent to USD 65.08 per ounce. Platinum rose 0.9 percent to USD 1,733.34 per ounce, and palladium advanced around 0.9 percent to USD 1,318.50 per ounce.
