The Iraqi National Security Service ( INSS) arrested 47 members of "Qurban" movement in 4 governorates. The INSS stated in a statement that: "In continuation of following up on the file of deviant behavioral movements, especially "Qurban" movement, and based on accurate intelligence information, and intensifying technical and field efforts, the INSS's detachments in Muthanna Governorate were able to arrest (20) suspects from the movement, including Al-Aref, which is a name given to the theorists of this movement or in the sense of (the informant and the preacher)." It added: "Our detachments in the governorates of (Dhi Qar, Wasit and Maysan) were able to arrest (27) suspects belonging to the movement, so that they will all be referred to the competent authorities and the necessary measures will be taken against them." The INSS announced early last July that it had infiltrated this movement, which is also called 'Al-Ali Alahiya,' and that its members promote deviant ideas that can be summed up by holding a lottery and whoever is chosen commits suicide by hanging.
