Iraq welcomed the United Nations statement regarding the agreement of the Yemeni parties on de-escalation measures. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, 'The Ministry expresses the Republic of Iraq's welcome of the statement issued by the office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy for Yemen, Han Grundberg, regarding the agreement of the Yemeni parties on measures to reduce escalation with regard to the banking sector and Yemeni Airlines.' In its statement, the Ministry affirmed its 'full support for the efforts aimed at achieving peace and security in a way that meets the ambitions and aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people.
