Moscow: US President Donald Trump is taking a more balanced approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, in contrast to European leaders who are viewed as openly biased in favor of Kyiv, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

According to Qatar News Agency, in press statements reported by Russian media outlets, Peskov stated that Trump is actively engaged in efforts to settle the crisis and has maintained a relatively neutral stance. Moscow considers this approach more conducive to genuine mediation, which it argues requires maintaining equal distance from all parties involved.

By contrast, the Russian government has accused European leaders of adopting a clearly pro-Ukrainian position, claiming that their policies are designed to weaken Russia rather than promote a peaceful resolution.

The remarks followed a lengthy phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Trump, which reportedly lasted over two hours and focused on potential solutions to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
