Doha: Kuwait Bourse closed trading on Wednesday with the All Share Index losing 24.38 points, closing at 8,741.71 points, marking a decrease of 0.28 percent.
According to Qatar News Agency, the trading session recorded a volume of 257.9 million shares with a total value of KWD 74.6 million, approximately USD 242 million, executed through 17,957 transactions. Despite the overall decline, the Main Market Index rose by 18.45 points, reaching 8,763.99 points, reflecting a 0.21 percent increase. This was achieved with 149.5 million shares traded via 8,476 transactions, amounting to a value of KWD 28.6 million, or roughly USD 93 million.
In contrast, the Premier Market Index experienced a loss of 34.78 points, closing at 9,190.70 points, a decline of 0.38 percent. This segment saw 108.3 million shares traded through 9,481 transactions, with a total value of KWD 45.8 million, equivalent to about USD 149 million. Additionally, the Bourse Main 50 Index decreased by 6.96 points to 10,106.50 points, down by 0.07 percent. This decline occurred with a stock volume of 112.2 million shares conducted in 6,133 deals, valued at KWD 22.8 million, or approximately USD 74.1 million.
