The Parisien newspaper reported that a letter from the French Interior Ministry containing the "plague" virus was found, addressed to its Minister, Gerald Darmanin. The letter was found at the post office at the sorting center in the Côte d'Or region. The newspaper confirmed that a fine black powder was found in the letter. Experts examined the powder inside at the Nuclear, Radiological, Biological, Chemical and Explosives Police Unit, and tests revealed the presence of the "plague" virus in the letter. The newspaper indicated that the contents of the letter were later sent to the Pasteur Institute for further examination, and the final results will be announced on Monday evening.
