According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat of the League released a statement where His Excellency the Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, praised the UK's decision as a significant and responsible step in support of the Palestinian people's historical and legal rights. He urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by halting all Israeli government violations and taking effective measures against efforts to alter the demographic or geographic status of the occupied territories, including illegal settlement activities. The Secretary-General further applauded the show of solidarity from foreign ministers of various countries, including Saudi A rabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt.
