Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its rejection and condemnation of the schemes that aim to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland, either temporarily or in the long term, stressing that such attempts represent a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations’ relevant resolutions.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Monday, OIC reiterated the importance of the full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza and the need for increased humanitarian assistance across the Gaza Strip, in addition to aiding displaced people in returning to their homes.

OIC also highlighted its support for Palestinians’ rights to their lands and sacred places, urging the international community to fulfill its responsibilities toward implementing the two-state solution to end the Israeli occupation and colonial settlement.

The organization emphasized the need to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and reclaim their legitimate rights, including the right to return, and to establish the sovereignty of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement concluded by stressing the importance of achieving just, enduring, and comprehensive peace in the region, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
