Beirut: Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, announced that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran will be signed during an official ceremony in Switzerland on Friday, expressing his gratitude for the mediation efforts undertaken by the wise leadership of the State of Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sharif stated in a post on X, "Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."
Sharif further mentioned that the official signing ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 19 June in Switzerland. He extended his thanks to both the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their dedication to resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
The Pakistani prime minister also acknowledged the important contributions made by Saudi Arabia and Turkiye in the negotiation process. He emphasized that under the agreement, mediators would facilitate a series of meetings this week, with these preliminary discussions setting the stage for technical talks and the formal signing ceremony.
