Doha: The Pakistani military announced Friday: that security forces killed 48 militants in intensive operations across Balochistan province over the past three days.

According to Qatar News Agency, a military statement disclosed that 36 militants were killed in the last 24 hours across Mastung, Quetta, Kalat, and Sibi, with 26 of them in Quetta's Shaban area. During these operations, weapons and explosives were also destroyed.

This announcement follows a separate operation in Kalat on September 2, where 12 militants were killed, bringing the total to 48 militants over the three-day period.

Military data indicates that over 1,188 militants have been killed in Balochistan since the beginning of the year as insurgent attacks have escalated. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies recorded 89 attacks in August, resulting in 76 deaths, while security operations led to the killing of 115 militants in that same month.
