Palestinian Cabinet Warns of Worsening Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Gaza: The Palestinian Cabinet warned on Sunday of the rapidly worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, citing severe restrictions on the entry of food aid, fuel, and medical supplies imposed by the Israeli occupation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet issued a statement highlighting that continued bombardment and forced displacement have driven thousands of families into increasingly dire conditions, with many forced to seek refuge in overcrowded shelters lacking basic necessities.

The Cabinet has called on the international community, the United Nations, and mediating and guarantor parties to take urgent action to pressure occupation forces to fully and sustainably reopen border crossings. This includes facilitating the unrestricted entry of humanitarian, medical, and fuel aid, as well as ending policies of starvation and forced displacement in Gaza.

Additionally, the Cabinet warned of an escalation in settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, noting that 42 attacks had been recorded over the past five days against 12 Palestinian villages. These attacks included arson, property damage, and the establishment of a new settlement outpost.

The Gaza Strip has been under an unprecedented blockade and severe restrictions on humanitarian and medical aid since the start of the Israeli aggression on Oct. 7, 2023, heightening concerns over a deepening humanitarian crisis.
