Ouagadougou: Qatar Chamber participated in the first edition of the Sahel Tech Innovation Challenge (STIC'26) held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Africa." The event aimed to foster collaboration among regional ministers, investors, and innovators, drawing over 600 project submissions from 23 African nations focused on transformative tech solutions in agriculture, healthcare, education, and finance.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar Chamber board member, Mohamed bin Mahdi Al Ahbabi, emphasized that their participation underscores a commitment to engaging with Africa's business communities, exploring emerging technologies, and highlighting the role of AI in supporting economic development and sustainability. Al Ahbabi noted that the event provides an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of the Qatari private sector and to explore cooperation in technology and digital transformation.

Qatar Chamber board member, Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed, highlighted that STIC'26 exemplifies the rapid advancement of Africa's technology sector and the innovative potential of its youth. He stated that successful economic cooperation requires more than traditional trade and investment, emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange, innovation, and building capacity among business communities.

Dr. Al Mohamed pointed out that technology, AI, and the digital economy offer promising cooperation avenues between Qatar, Burkina Faso, and Africa. He stressed the increasing demand for innovative digital solutions to enhance productivity and competitiveness, particularly amid global economic shifts, and urged investors to recognize Africa's potential as a partner with its rich human capital and expanding markets.
