Qatar Condemns Israeli Actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha: The State of Qatar has condemned the recent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Israeli National Security Minister along with groups of settlers. Qatar has described this act as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as an unacceptable provocation to millions of Muslims across the globe.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement released on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims. The Ministry declared that any unilateral measures aiming to alter the historical and legal standing of Jerusalem and its sacred sites are considered null and void under international law.

The Ministry cautioned that the persistence of these violations and provocations could fuel cycles of violence and escalation in the region, subsequently undermining the prospects for de-escalation and stability. It urged the international community to take immediate action to compel Israel to halt its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, and to adhere to relevant international resolutions.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's resilience. Qatar's position is firmly rooted in ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
