Qatar Cricket Chief Elected to Asian Cricket Council Executive Board

Doha: President of the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA), HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Thani, has been elected as a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Executive Board for 2026, representing the QCA. The election took place during the ACC Annual General Meeting 2026, held in Bangkok on Saturday, with representatives from the host country, Qatar, several Gulf Cooperation Council states, and a number of Asian cricket associations in attendance.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Thani's appointment reflects Qatar's growing role in the development and promotion of cricket at the regional and continental levels. It also marks an important step toward expanding Qatari representation in sports decision-making bodies across Asia.

The appointment further highlights the growing confidence in Qatari sporting expertise and the country's strengthening position within the Asian cricket community. It is expected to create new opportunities for cooperation and development while supporting efforts to expand the sport's reach and participation in Qatar and across the region.
