Doha:Sidra Medicine and Qatar Precision Health Institute (QPHI) have announced a strategic partnership for the Precision Medicine and the Future of Genomics (PMFG) Summit 2026, scheduled for December 7 to 9, 2026. QPHI will serve as a co-organizer alongside Sidra Medicine to guide the summit’s scientific direction and enhance its focus on precision health advancements in Qatar and beyond.

According to Qatar News Agency, this collaboration marks the second consecutive year that these two Qatar Foundation entities have joined forces. Their partnership leverages complementary expertise in genomics, precision medicine, and translational research. Prof. Khalid Fakhro from Sidra Medicine emphasized that this cooperation underscores a shared commitment to transforming genomic discoveries into impactful healthcare outcomes, with QPHI's expertise in population-scale and multi-omics research complementing Sidra Medicine’s clinical strengths.

QPHI, a national center under Qatar Foundation, is dedicated to advancing precision healthcare through genomics research. Dr. Emmanouil Dermitzakis, QPHI President, highlighted Qatar's coordinated national strategy in precision health, a journey shared at the PMFG Summit to facilitate global knowledge exchange.

The PMFG Summit 2026 will focus on patient advocacy, next-generation therapeutics, global genomic representation, AI-driven discoveries, and scaling genomic medicine through trusted biobanks and national programs. It aims to foster collaboration among various stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and policymakers, to translate genomic and AI advances into clinical and public health impact.
