Doha: The State of Qatar confirmed it is ready to host the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference, scheduled to be held in Doha from November 9 to November 27, 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, this announcement was made during the participation of HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Dr. Hend Abdulrahman Al Muftah, in the extraordinary session of the ITU Council. The session, held in Geneva, focused on reviewing the latest developments regarding the ongoing preparations for the conference.

HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva expressed her appreciation to the ITU Council for organizing the session at a crucial time when preparations are advancing rapidly. She provided a comprehensive overview of the national efforts led by the Communications Regulatory Authority and other relevant authorities in Qatar to ensure the successful hosting of the conference, which is the ITU's highest decision-making body.
