Doha: Qatari newspapers on Friday delved into a variety of pressing local and regional matters in their editorials, predominantly centering on the warning against Israeli escalation at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the ongoing attacks against the Palestinian people. These violations have significant implications for security and peace in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials also shed light on the current international stance regarding Israeli practices in southern Lebanon and Syria, along with its actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Domestically, the newspapers emphasized Qatar's initiatives to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and its commitment to protecting workers by enhancing compliance with labor market regulations, focusing on preventing heat stress and ensuring the health and safety of workers.

In an editorial titled "A fierce Israeli aggression against Al-Aqsa," Al Raya criticized Israel's actions, stating that allowing extremists and settler mobs to desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque reflects an aggressive colonial mindset. The paper highlighted that such provocations are an affront to Muslims worldwide and violate the sanctity of the mosque, international law, and UN resolutions. This escalation poses a threat to freedom of worship and peace in the region.

Al Raya emphasized that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims and urged the international community to uphold its responsibilities towards Jerusalem and its holy sites. The newspaper warned that continued violations could expand the cycle of violence in the region, leading to an endless religious conflict.

Al Watan, in its editorial titled "International inaction," focused on Israeli raids and bombings in southern Lebanon, noting that international demands for withdrawal are met with Israeli resistance. The editorial highlighted tensions in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rejection of a 15-point document has reignited conflict, threatening the ceasefire.

In the West Bank, Al Watan reported ongoing settler crimes, with Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem warning of ethnic cleansing. The paper called for international pressure to enforce agreed-upon measures and respond to Israel's continued actions. It concluded by noting the rising death toll from Israeli actions in Gaza, with 73,388 martyrs since October 2023, and criticized the international community's inability to stop the violence.
