Qatar’s Development Achievements Highlighted Amid Regional Tensions

Doha: Al-Arab newspaper has emphasized the visible development achievements in Qatar over the past years, attributing them to the wise leadership and directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The editorial noted that the Qatar National Vision 2030 continues to position the nation as an advanced country, capable of sustaining its development and providing a high standard of living for its people and future generations.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Arab highlighted Qatar's impressive ranking of fourth globally in the standard of living index, leading the Middle East and North Africa region in the 2026 Legatum Prosperity Index. This ranking confirms the continued improvement in the quality of life for citizens and residents alike. Furthermore, Qatar's eighth global ranking in the development index reflects the country's progress in building advanced infrastructure for essential services that enhance quality of life.

The newspaper affirmed that these indicators reflect the ongoing national efforts to implement the Third National Development Strategy. This strategy serves as the implementation framework for achieving the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, placing social and human development at the core of the country's journey toward a sustainable future.

In parallel, Al-Sharq newspaper indicated that international indicators confirm Qatar's steady advancement along the development path, guided by a clear vision that prioritizes people and their quality of life. The newspaper pointed out that the country's progress extends beyond providing a high standard of living, encompassing the development of an integrated system of services that enhance societal well-being. Qatar's eighth global ranking in the development index underscores the efforts made to develop infrastructure and essential services while strengthening human and social development.

Concurrently, The Peninsula reported on regional tensions, highlighting the renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran, which is pushing the region into a dangerous phase. The newspaper expressed concern over the targeting of Gulf states not involved in the conflict, noting recent Iranian attacks against Kuwait as a violation of sovereignty and international law. Qatar has strongly condemned these attacks, reaffirming its full solidarity with Kuwait and support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty and security.

The Peninsula concluded that countries consistently advocating diplomacy and de-escalation should not bear the consequences of a conflict they did not choose. It emphasized that the Gulf's repeated calls for diplomacy over confrontation must now be heeded.
