Doha: Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), associated with Qatar Foundation, and the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster cooperation in supporting senior citizens and promoting their active participation in society. This collaboration seeks to highlight the crucial contributions of the elderly and facilitate their involvement in Qatar’s national development.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was co-signed by Manal Ahmed Al Mannai, Executive Director of Ehsan, and Saad Abdullah Al Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC. The agreement sets a framework for joint initiatives aimed at enhancing the transfer of expertise and knowledge between generations, thereby enriching intergenerational communication.
The memorandum outlines collaborative efforts to involve elderly citizens in QCDC’s programs like the Little Employee Initiative and Al Dileela program. In these initiatives, senior citizens will mentor younger generations, providing them with inspiring role models. They will also participate in career guidance activities and be featured in the Career Guide magazine to highlight their skills and experiences.
Al Kharji emphasized QCDC’s dedication to fostering communication across societal segments through the Career Development Portal. He noted that the partnership with Ehsan aligns with QCDC’s view of career development as a lifelong process. Involving senior citizens in these programs enriches youth experiences and honors the valuable knowledge of older generations in Qatar.
Manal Al Mannai stated that the agreement underscores Ehsan Center’s commitment to forming strategic partnerships with national institutions. She highlighted the importance of integrating the expertise of the elderly into community service, aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
