Doha: Qatar Foundation's (QF) Academic Bridge Program (ABP), part of Pre-University Education (PUE), has received full accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), becoming the first educational institution in Qatar to receive this accreditation as a Supplementary Education Center.
According to Qatar News Agency, the accreditation followed a comprehensive evaluation process that included an in-depth self-study and an initial visit by a team of experienced educators. These educators assessed ABP against the standards for Supplementary Education Centers with a focus on the quality of student learning and well-being.
QF emphasized that this accreditation represents an important step in ABP's journey to further strengthen academic and educational quality assurance through an ongoing process of self-evaluation, periodic review, and evidence-based improvement.
Abeer Al Khalifa, President of QF's Pre-University Education (PUE), stated that the accreditation reflects Qatar Foundation's commitment to excellence in education and the shared dedication across their Pre-University Education ecosystem to empowering students to achieve their fullest potential.
Dr. Saheim Al Temimi, ABP Director, remarked that achieving this accreditation is a significant milestone for ABP and a recognition of their commitment to excellence in education. It reflects the dedication and efforts of faculty, administrative staff, and all stakeholders in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and student success.
Alana Steward, International Consultant at WASC, expressed pride in welcoming ABP as a member of its community of Supplementary Education Centers. Steward noted that ABP's focus on student learning and well-being provides students with distinctive pathways to university education and prepares them for success beyond graduation.
The evaluation committee's initial visit report highlighted several of ABP's key strengths, including the clarity of its vision and mission in preparing students for a successful transition to university education and future careers, as well as positive student outcomes, including university acceptance rates and academic progress. The committee also praised ABP's collaborative leadership approach and student-centered culture, which is built on strong relationships and individualized academic support, along with its partnerships with local and international universities.
The report further highlighted ABP's data-driven approach to review and evaluation, commitment to professional development and continuous improvement, and comprehensive support system, which contributes to a positive learning environment for students, faculty, and administrative staff.
