Doha: Qatar Museums (QM) has unveiled its September 2026 public program, which promises a diverse array of workshops, talks, storytelling sessions, creative courses, and family activities. These events are set to take place across various museums and creative hubs, engaging participants in art, design, photography, calligraphy, heritage, literature, and creative learning.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program aims to reach children, young people, adults, families, and educators, highlighting key activities such as Arabic calligraphy courses, drawing and painting workshops, and design and fabrication sessions. These events are designed to reflect Qatar's unique cultural and creative landscape.
As part of the Fall/Winter season, Qatar Creates Talks will continue through September with collaborations from Fire Station, Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Lusail Museum, Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), and Georgetown University in Qatar. These partnerships create opportunities for audiences to engage with artists and cultural practitioners.
Noteworthy events include a panel discussion on creative development programs at Fire Station Auditorium on September 1, an exhibition tour at Al Hosh Gallery on September 6, and various lectures at Mathaf throughout the month. These events aim to explore artistic practice, cultural narratives, and the intersection of art and infrastructure.
Mathaf's September agenda is rich with artistic practice-focused activities such as drawing, calligraphy, storytelling, and creative exchange sessions. Highlights include Art Lessons with Ismail Azzam and a calligraphy workshop with Essa Fakhroo.
Simultaneously, M7 will participate in the 15th Arabian Women Exhibition until September 5, showcasing regional design, fashion, craftsmanship, and creative enterprise.
The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) will offer a September program that spans calligraphy, art, science, literature, and family learning. Events include storytelling sessions, a family day activity geared toward junior curators, and a book club discussion on architectural ceramics of Central Asia.
Liwan Design Studios and Labs will host practical creative workshops across digital fabrication, ceramics, miniature painting, and alternative photography techniques, inviting participants to explore new artistic methods.
The Qatar Auto Museum is supporting educators through a series of teacher training workshops throughout September, focusing on integrating automotive history and technology into classroom learning.
The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) continues to emphasize the nation's heritage with programs like the Perfume Making Workshop and The Experiment Program at Teen Hub, promoting traditional practices and creative learning.
Lastly, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will engage families and children with storytelling sessions that introduce young audiences to sports in an entertaining and educational manner.
