Qatar: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has signed a cooperation agreement with the British Embassy Doha to launch a continuation of the Psychosocial Support for Palestinian Families Hosted in Qatar project through March 2027. The agreement was signed by Acting Secretary-General of QRCS Abdullah Sultan Al Qatan and HE Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the State of Qatar Neerav Patel.

According to Qatar News Agency, Assistant Secretary-General for Relief and International Development at QRCS, Mohamed Bader Al Sada, emphasized the importance of mental health and psychosocial support as essential pillars of humanitarian response. "Helping people recover from trauma is not only about addressing today's challenges - it is about restoring hope, strengthening resilience, and enabling a better future," Al Sada stated. He highlighted that Phase 3 will focus on community empowerment, institutional development, and long-term capacity-building, transitioning from emergency response to a sustainable approach.

He further explained the significance of the agreement, stating, "Our responsibility goes beyond meeting immediate needs. It is to help people regain a sense of security, restore their confidence, and move forward with hope and dignity." Al Sada concluded by acknowledging the shared commitment of QRCS and the British Embassy to support Palestinian families on their journey of healing and recovery.

HE the British Ambassador, Neerav Patel, also commented on the partnership's achievements over the past two years. He noted the creation of safe spaces, community strengthening, therapy provision, and support for families facing difficult circumstances. His Excellency added that the third phase will continue to support affected families while investing in future resilience through psychological first aid and wellbeing programs in schools.
