QSE Index Opens Lower as Transportation Sector Leads Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index fell by 47.17 points, or 0.42%, as trading commenced on Wednesday, dropping to 11,093 points from the previous session’s close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Transportation sector experienced the most significant decline, dropping by 0.51%. Other sectors also saw decreases, with Industrials down by 0.47%, Banks and Financial Services by 0.40%, Telecoms by 0.21%, Consumer Goods and Services by 0.18%, and Real Estate by 0.10%. However, Insurance showed a marginal increase of 0.21%.

By 10:00 am, the QSE reported a trading volume of 28.920 million shares, resulting in a total turnover of QR 77.578 million across 2,823 transactions.
