Kyiv: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces carried out precision strikes on energy facilities and drone assembly workshops belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kyiv. The strikes are part of an ongoing military campaign targeting strategic locations within Ukraine.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian statement detailed the destruction of equipment belonging to two mechanized brigades and three National Guard brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near various towns. Additionally, the Ukrainian side reportedly suffered significant losses, with over 335 troops, eight armored combat vehicles, 12 vehicles, two field artillery pieces, and three electronic warfare stations being incapacitated.
The ministry further reported that Russia's "Southern" forces succeeded in disabling formations from two mechanized brigades, an airborne brigade, and a naval infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces within their operational area. The losses on the Ukrainian side were substantial, including up to 205 service members, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 22 vehicles, an artillery piece, and a counter-battery radar station.
Recent weeks have seen an intensification of Russian military actions, particularly against maritime facilities in southern Ukraine. Kyiv has responded with increased reliance on one-way attack drones, which have successfully targeted and damaged Russian oil facilities on several occasions.
