The Rapporteur of the House of Representatives, Deputy Head of the Turkmen Framework Bloc, MP Gharib Askar Al-Turkmani, met with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, to discuss the latest developments related to the formation of the local government in Kirkuk. During the meeting, the great importance of accelerating the formation of the local government was discussed, as the two parties stressed that delaying this process negatively affects various aspects of life in the province, in terms of security, economy and society. The two parties stressed the need to take into account the balance among the various components of Kirkuk in the process of forming the government, to ensure fair and comprehensive representation of all spectrums. The two parties agreed that the management of the province by one component may lead to exacerbation of tensions and increased divisions, which contradicts the efforts made to achieve stability and development in Kirkuk. Al-Turkmani and Abdull ah expressed their hope that an agreement would be reached soon that would strengthen national unity and serve the interests of all the people of the province.
