The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense announced the arrest of 6 accused of human trafficking, drug trafficking and kidnapping in the governorates of Diwaniyah, Baghdad and Muthanna. The Directorate stated in a statement: "The Directorate's detachments arrested four accused, including a woman, who are human traffickers in Diwaniyah Governorate, against whom arrest warrants were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (6 of Human Trafficking)." It added: "The Directorate's detachments were able to arrest two wanted persons for kidnapping, drug trafficking and promotion in Baghdad and Muthanna governorates, according to judicial warrants issued against them (28 drugs, 421 kidnappings), and they were handed over to the competent authorities in accordance with the law.
