Doha: The start of the new 2026-2027 academic year has taken center stage in Qatari newspaper editorials, alongside a significant phone call between His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and His Excellency Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan. According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the reopening of schools across the State of Qatar, marking the beginning of a new journey of learning for 419,373 male and female students. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has completed all necessary academic, administrative, and operational preparations to ensure a smooth start to the educational process.

The editorial stressed the importance of teachers in the education system, noting that 17,679 teachers are part of government schools and kindergartens, complemented by 25,372 teachers and administrators in private education. The preparations for the academic year included the appointment of 210 teachers from the Tamouh program and the continuation of professional development programs to enhance staff competencies in line with the latest educational and technological advancements. The newspaper emphasized that students' return to classrooms signifies an ongoing national journey that prioritizes building the nation through education.

Al-Arab newspaper also addressed the start of the academic year, focusing on the renewed hopes and ambitions as schools continue to serve as fundamental pillars of nation-building and capacity development. The editorial noted that schools are nurturing environments, preparing future generations to face contemporary challenges. It highlighted the opportunity for renewal and development as students return, learning the value of commitment and hard work in achieving both personal and national objectives.
