Damascus: The 63rd Damascus International Fair was inaugurated in the Syrian capital, Damascus, under the slogan 'Syria Shines Again,' with the participation of around 1,000 local, Arab, and foreign companies from 60 countries, amid a broad economic, commercial, and cultural presence.

According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Minister of Social Affairs and Labor of the Syrian Arab Republic Hind Kabawat stated that the fair serves as a platform for economic and trade cooperation, in addition to hosting a variety of social and cultural activities. She mentioned that daily performances are being held by musical groups representing different regions and cultures, which contribute to the promotion of social cohesion.

She further noted that children are actively participating in various activities organized by the fair in collaboration with the Scouts, providing them an opportunity to engage in the economic and cultural event.

Meanwhile, Director of Media Communications at Syria's Ministry of Economy and Industry Abdullah Hallaq emphasized to QNA that the Damascus International Fair reflects Syria's renewed openness to the world. He highlighted the importance of the fair in supporting the national economy and stimulating economic and commercial activity.

Hallaq pointed out that the current edition of the fair is distinct from previous ones by dedicating the first three days to business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) activities, with a focus on investment discussions and negotiations over contracts and agreements, particularly those related to industry and trade.

He also noted the participation of around 1,000 exhibiting companies from Syria, other Arab countries, and abroad, with approximately 60 countries taking part.

The fair is scheduled to continue until September 4, featuring a comprehensive program of economic, commercial, cultural, and social meetings and activities.
