The Basra Police Command announced, today, Friday, the overthrow of the most dangerous drug traffickers and seized a large quantity of narcotic drugs in the governorate. The command stated in a statement, 'Basra Governorate Police Commander, Major General Latif Abdul Redha Al-Saad, announced the overthrow of the most dangerous drug traffickers in the governorate,' indicating that 'after receiving intelligence information about the whereabouts of the accused, a work team was immediately formed from the Basra Drug Control Division and an emergency regiment, the Fourth Police and Regimental Intelligence, after developing a precise plan and using a qualitative and proactive operation, raided and arrested him.' It added, "The accused was seized with an amount estimated at one kilogram of narcotic crystal in his possession" noting that "legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the judiciary to receive his just punishment."
