Baghdad: The Presidency of the Republic denied the existence of an agreement to amend the Elections Law with leaders of the Coordination Framework. The Presidency stated in a statement that it "denies what was circulated on social media by some figures about the Presidency's intention, in agreement with leaders of the Coordination Framework, to prepare a draft law to amend the Elections Law." The statement added; "While we deny such fabricated news that is nothing more than rumors intended to create confusion in the political arena, we will regretfully be forced to prosecute those who seek to spread at the expense of societal peace and security, at a time when we are working to bring the viewpoints of the partners in the political process closer together, in order to move forward in providing the best services and accomplishing what the government promised in its program."
