Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met today, Tuesday, at Baghdad Palace, the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq, Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari. A presidential statement stated that "during the meeting, the President stressed the need to consolidate relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing Iraq's keenness to expand the horizons of constructive cooperation in the service of common higher interests. He pointed to "the efforts made by the Kingdom in managing the Hajj season, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries to facilitate procedures for Iraqi pilgrims." For his part, Ambassador Al-Shammari assured the President of the Republic that the Kingdom is keen to create appropriate conditions for Iraqi pilgrims, including housing and services, in cooperation with the Hajj and Umrah Authority in Iraq.
