The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the necessity of opening an investigation and knowing the circumstances of the Hamdaniya fire and taking all safety measures to prevent its recurrence.

Rashid said in a statement: “What happened to our sons in the Al-Hamdaniya district is a painful tragedy and an accident that has crushed our hearts and the hearts of all Iraqis.”

He added: “Our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.”
