Turkish Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday the elimination of 13 militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) group and its Syrian arm, the YPG, in operations in northern Syria and Iraq. The ministry explained, in a statement, that ongoing operations to eliminate armed elements will continue, noting that militants were monitored and neutralized in the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch regions in northern Syria, and in the Kara region in northern Iraq. It is noteworthy that the Turkish forces, in cooperation with the Syrian National Army, carried out several military operations in northern Syria, including the Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, and Peace Spring operations against the ISIS and YPG groups, during which hundreds of militants were eliminated and driven out of their dens on the border.
