The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced Sunday the elimination of four militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and Syria. In a statement, the ministry said that two militants were neutralized in the Gara region of northern Iraq, while two others were eliminated in the Operation Euphrates Shield area in northern Syria. For years, Turkish security forces have been conducting operations to track down and apprehend individuals suspected of belonging to the PKK and ISIS, due to the organizations' involvement in attacks and bombings targeting civilians and military personnel in Turkiye.
