5.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northwest China

Haixi: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday in Haixi, located in Qinghai Province, northwest China.

According to Qatar News Agency, the China Earthquake Networks Center identified the epicenter at 37.81 degrees north latitude and 95.63 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 kilometers. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage following the quake.

China experiences frequent seismic activity, especially in its mountainous western regions. In a related incident, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Haixi on June 16, resulting in one fatality and four injuries.
