Doha: The 8th Al Dasha Marine Sports Festival, organized by the Doha Marine Sports Club, kicked off on Tuesday at Katara Beach, coinciding with the Qatar National Sport Day (NSD). According to Qatar News Agency, the first day of the festival featured the official opening and the launch of the Marine Companies and Factories Exhibition, attracting a large turnout of sea and fishing enthusiasts, as well as those interested in Qatar's marine industries. The festival's official competitions began with kayak fishing and swordfish fishing, which will continue on Wednesday. The event will progress into its most competitive stage with various championship rounds scheduled for Friday and Saturday, including the Qatar Traditional Rowing Championship, the Qatar Jet Ski and Freestyle Championship, and the Qatar Traditional Sailing Championship.
